Merchandise Planner – Cape Town

Description

A reputable leading Fashion Retailer has an opportunity for a resilient Senior Planner who can think laterally and who has the strong analytical, logical reasoning and numerical abilities.  The ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated and involved in overseeing the end to end process in the applicable area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Achieve turnover, gross profit budgets, stock budgets and related KPI’s.
• Deliver and implement post seasonal analysis, strategic planning, range & assortment planning.
• Accurately and continuously budgeting and forecasting in order to achieve sales plan and maximize profitability.
• Accurately and continuously forecasting inflows to achieve sales plans, departmental growth and profitability.
• Executing and managing project plans to achieve the agreed objectives (if applicable).
• Supporting and guiding team members with regards to efficient administration as well as the accurate allocation of stock to ensure that the right stock gets to the right store by the right time.
• Liaising with stores, suppliers, customers shipping and marketing.

Requirements

Qualifications: Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification is an important pre-requisite, pref a Numerical Degree.
Experience: 3 – 5 years working experience as a Retail/Merchandise/Product Planner within a retail environment is required.
Additional: • Microsoft Office proficiency with advanced Excel experience is essential. • Working knowledge and experience with Merchandise planning and reporting systems is required. • Experience in planning menswear and footwear will be highly advantageous. • Sound numerical, analytical thinking & logical problem-solving skills. • Strong merchant, trader and commercial mentality. • A team collaborator with strong strategic and forward thinking. • Strong planning, organizing, administrating and coordinating skills. • Ability to work independently, self-lead and use initiative. • Deadline and outcomes focused.
