Garment Technologist (Manufacturing) – Cape Town

My client is seeking an experienced Garment Technologist to join their Design/Manufacturing Division at their Head Office in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a technically strong, detail-oriented Garment Technologist with a passion for retail, garment construction and quality manufacturing in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Lead fit sessions from sample stage through to final production.
• Communicate clear fit comments and technical requirements to suppliers and factories.
• Partner with Buying, Design, Technical and Operations teams to support product development.
• Manage factory quality issues and corrective action processes.
• Support and mentor CMTs and service providers to drive quality improvement.
• Collaborate with Patternmakers and Sample Room teams on fit development.
• Ensure compliance with garment manufacturing standards and regulations.

Requirements

Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Clothing Management or Fashion Design.
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in Garment Technology in MANUFACTURING or Quality Assurance.
Additional: • Experience within Clothing Manufacturing/Factory environments. • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims and embroidery. • Patternmaking knowledge advantageous. • Understanding of patterns, grading and AQL standards. • Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel. • Valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel to suppliers.
