Sourcing Merchandiser (Fashion) – Cape Town

Description

A leading fashion retailer is seeking an experienced Sourcing Merchandiser to join its fast-paced Sourcing Division. Strong Manufacturing and Imports Merchandising experience is essential. SA CITIZENS ONLY.

Responsibilities

• Source finished goods efficiently, ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are met.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Ensure workmanship standards and propose fabric or construction alternatives where needed.
• Manage critical paths to meet deadlines.
• Maintain accurate briefs and up-to-date PLM systems.
• Drive portfolio growth through strong trading and negotiation skills.
• Support styling changes in collaboration with buyers and suppliers.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Experience:
Additional: • Degree or Diploma in a related field. • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Manufacturing or a similar environment. • Proven experience working directly with overseas suppliers. • Strong negotiation, administrative and written communication skills. • Previous experience managing a Sourcing Assistant. • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. • Willingness to travel.
