Junior Merchandiser (Clothing Design Studio) – Cape Town

Description

We’re looking for a detail-driven JUNIOR MANUFACTURING MERCHANDISER to support our design and production team from brief to bulk. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clothing studio and loves turning concepts into perfectly executed garments. SA CITIZENS ONLY.

Responsibilities

• Translate buyer briefs into accurate job styles on Sync.
• Maintain and update cost cards, ensuring pricing accuracy.
• Follow up on print, embroidery, fabric and trim costs.
• Source special trims and manage approvals.
• Co-ordinate pre-production processes, including fit samples and PP samples.
• Liaise with Patternmakers and Graders to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure bulk fabrics and trims are delivered on time.
• Keep Sync tasks and statuses up to date.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Experience:
Additional: • Diploma in Fashion Design or Clothing Manufacturing (advantageous). • 2 – 5 years’ experience in a similar Clothing Manufacturing/Design Centre role. • Strong Excel and Word skills; Sync experience a plus. • Solid understanding of fabrics, garment construction and costing. • Excellent planning, prioritisation and communication skills. • Highly organised and detail-oriented. • Proactive with a strong sense of urgency. • Clear and confident in verbal and written communication.
